Happy shalt thou be (series 2).

Date: October 2, 2025

For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Psalm 128:2

We understand that happiness for the child of God is a covenant blessing out of personal relationship with the Father. "Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD." vs 4. It is not a result of the absence of trouble or challenges, but rather in spite of all. "Happy shalt thou be."
"Though he slay me, I will hope in him;" (Job 13:15).

James 1:12 (TPT). If your faith remains strong, even while surrounded by life’s difficulties, you will continue to experience the untold blessings of God! True happiness comes as you pass the test with faith and receive the victorious crown of life promised to every lover of God!

Many believers make the mistake of sabotaging their happiness by:

1. Setting targets and deadlines for God, and when they fail to realise their "dreams", they say God has failed them.

2. They attach their happiness to certain future accomplishments, thereby end up chasing "things" at the expense of their happiness.

3. They fail to appreciate and enjoy what they have because of what they lack.

4. Lack of contentment and gratitude. "But godliness with contentment is great gain." (1 Tim 6:6).

5. Being very anxious. Worrying about tomorrow's dinner at today's breakfast table.

6. By putting their happiness in the hands of other unhappy fellows.

7. Equating happiness to achievements or possessions. 'And he said to them, "Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." ' (Luke 12:15).

Know that the foundation for happiness is the fear of God. Nothing can fill the place of God in the life of a man. The chorus of the song "When we walk with the Lord" says it all. "Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey."

Scripture Reading: Prov 3:1-10
